The Color of Emotion

If language influences how we perceive colors, what else does language altered our perception?
By language altering our perception of colors, I assume the question means it is difficult to describe a color without actually using the color's name. That being the case, we often associate colors with emotions. Red is seen as intensity, heat, and passion. Green is the color of both new life in spring, sickness, and envy. This is my train of thought in answering.
Language also affects our perception of emotions. Can you really describe love, hate, joy, and sorrow in a way everyone can understand? We all have different ideas of what these emotions are because we have experienced the emotions differently. There are a myriad of ways to describe emotions.
